Thank God for college football! Being located in Northeast Florida, it is only right that we would have a Florida romance born out of football rivalries. Kimmie and Tyler met while attending a Florida/Alabama tailgate in 2014. They hosted a romantic evening wedding here at the Lightner Museum last December.
Before their ceremony, Tyler met Kimmie just outside of the museum to give her her bouquet, and to share a private moment together.
The Bride Shares Her Wedding Inspiration:
The decor inside the Historic Pool fit perfectly with the historic architecture of the museum, which was no accident. When sharing her vision for her big say, Kimmie said, “My mom and I knew pretty quickly after visiting the Lightner that it was our venue, and we were always on the same page concerning vision. Our goal was really to highlight the architecture and design already in place at the museum. All we wanted to add was greenery and lights, lights, lights! And, of course, to make comfortable spaces for our guests to enjoy the evening. I was so fortunate to have my mom to coordinate and make decisions on my behalf, as I spent our engagement in Gainesville completing rotations as a third-year medical student.”
These two had treats throughout their entire reception for their guests (and maybe even some of their vendors) to enjoy! The Hot Cocoa Station, in particular, was perfect for adding a little holiday spirit.
The newlyweds enjoyed their first dance while their friends and family watched from the Mezzanine.
Kimmie and Tyler’s guests took to the dance floor in our Historic Pool.
The Bride and Groom’s Most Memorable Moments From Their Wedding Day:
There were so many memorable moments from Kimmie and Tyler’s wedding reception. A few special moments stood out to Kimmie and Tyler. “For me (Kimmie), it’s the moment we sat down at the reception and first took in the view of a lifetime- a spectacular space decorated more beautifully than I had dreamed and filled with all the people we love most. I still get teary-eyed thinking about it. For Tyler, it’s our final, private dance. Our guests were lining up outside with sparklers while we had the dance floor to ourselves to soak in one more moment in the most beautiful setting on the most wonderful day. We danced to “Let’s Stay Home Tonight” by Needtobreathe and I think we both felt like time stopped for those minutes.”
This Florida romance ended with an amazing sparkler exit in perfect winter weather. From start to finish, an enchanting experience!
