Your dream of capturing incredible wedding photos becomes a reality at the Lightner Museum. The historic venue offers a myriad of stunning indoor and outdoor locations for your wedding portraits.

Some of St. Augustine’s best portrait locations can be found within the Lightner Museum grounds. Couples booked with the Lightner Museum for their wedding have exclusive access to many photo locations not available to the public. With its lush greenery, vibrant blooms, and secluded pathways, the outdoor venue spaces offer a secluded oasis with a sense of intimacy for wedding portraits. A member of the team will also work with you and your photographer to plan the best indoor locations for photos throughout the museum.

*NOTE: Some indoor and outdoor areas may not be available for photos during certain dates or times, depending on the museum schedule.

Outdoor Terrace & Gardens

Step onto our Outdoor Terrace, bathed in natural light and surrounded by the lush greenery of the private South Gardens. The open-air ambiance provides an idyllic setting for capturing radiant portraits against the backdrop of the museum’s elegant architecture. Whether you’re planning a private first look, portraits with your wedding party, or a place to say hello to your beloved pet, the Outdoor Terrace and Gardens are the perfect spot.

Side Courtyards & Loggia

Discover the charm of our Side Courtyards and Loggia, where a blend of architectural and natural elements come together harmoniously. The vibrant bougainvillea in the side courtyards offers a unique and romantic photo opportunity, while the covered loggia walkways serve as a perfect neutral background to put you in the spotlight. These intimate spaces exude an understated elegance, creating a delightful atmosphere for capturing intimate moments and candid shots.

Lightner Museum Weddings & Events DOES NOT coordinate elopements or small wedding ceremonies in the courtyard in front of the Lightner Museum, nor do we manage photography permits for couples who are not booked with us for their event. For photo permits, please contact the City of St. Augustine. For outdoor wedding ceremonies in front of the Lightner Museum, contact The Wedding Authority.
