Brooke and Blake’s wedding day at the Lightner Museum was an absolute dream! There were so many special and emotional moments–from the tear-jerking first look to the romantic private last dance in the Historic Pool. We were so fortunate to play a role in this sweet couple’s nupatials. Read on for all of the details and picture-perfect moments captured by Naomi Lynn Photography!
The Emotional First Look
Here at the Lightner Museum, we love when a couple chooses to do a First Look before the wedding ceremony. After seeing the photos from Brooke and Blake’s First Look in the Loggia off of the Lighter Museum’s courtyards, you’ll see why.
These two were so incredibly overcome with emotion. The waterworks even started for Blake BEFORE he saw his bride! There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after he turned around and saw how stunning Brooke looked in her classic lace wedding gown.
After plenty of embraces, laughs, and even more tears, the couple took advantage of the Lightner’s lush courtyards and historic architecture for pre-wedding portraits. The wedding party joined in for pictures on the Outdoor Terrace. The gents looked so dapper in their navy suits with pink ties, and the bridesmaids were a vision in their blush pink gowns.
The Wedding Ceremony
Brooke and Blake chose the Lightner Museum’s Historic Pool as the setting for their wedding ceremony. St. Johns Illuminations strung up luminous bulbs above the pool area, creating a magical glow under which the couple would say “I do.”
Once all of the guests were seated, it was time for the ceremony to begin. When Brooke descended down the grand staircase, Blake was once again overcome with emotion. His face as Brook’s parents led her down the aisle was absolutely priceless!
These two could not stop smiling as vows and rings were exchanged. After finally being pronounced husband and wife, the lovebirds sealed their union with a joyous first kiss.
All the Details
While Brooke and Blake took photos in the City of St. Augustine courtyard and guests enjoyed cocktail hour, the Historic Pool was transformed for the wedding reception. The navy, pink, and gold color scheme fit in perfectly with the muted tones on the second-floor Mezzanine. Tula Rose Floral and Events provided beautiful blooms and greenery for the reception tables, sweetheart table, and cake table. Speaking of cake, our mouths are watering just looking back at photos of the beautiful cake from Creme de la Cocoa.
The Wedding Reception
Brooke and Blake made their grand entrance back into the Historic Pool as guests looked on from the Mezzanine above. They danced their first dance under the twinkling lights and were honored with toasts from the father of the bride, best man, and maids of honor. After a tasty dinner catered by Moore Fine Foods, it was finally time to paaarty! When Silkee Smoove Band started doing their thing, guests were itching to get out on that dance floor; they definitely knew how to get down!
The fun could have gone on all night long…but even the best parties must eventually come to an end. As guests got lined up on the Outdoor Terrace for the sparkler exit, Brooke and Blake shared one final last spin around the dance floor. It was the perfect end to a magical day filled with elegance, joy, laughter, and sooo many happy tears!
